How do I get Byckl’s custom royal treatment?
There are two options for you if you want to get your ByCKL custom order.
The first is to come at my workshop (by appointment only) or at an event in which I attend, you can find them on the page ‘’on tour’’ of the website. You can try different models and choose your size. With my lynx eyes I can note the necessary adjustments and special requests. We’re gonna go through options together to finalize your order. A 50% deposit is mandatory at the beginning, you will pay the balance when you come to pick it up. Otherwise, you can always pay the entire amount which allows a flexible delivery (in a drop point, home, your work, etc).
If you’re unable to swing by the workshop we will have to do this from distance and I will need your cooperation to follow these steps:
1) Select a listing mentioning ‘Basic Options’.
2) Take the size closest to your measurements, as well as the length of the desired garment.
3) You can start choosing the options you want to add.
4) In the last box I ask you to send me your measurements so that I can make changes on the pattern. You can use the video to help yourself. You can take them alone easily or ask someone to help you. You’re gonna have to send me pictures of you in semi-fitted pants, front, side, and back, so I can see your body shape. Some adjustments can only be seen this way and not through measures. The best moment to send them is with the order confirmation email that you will receive.
5) For additional options available, there is a listing that groups them and you can attach those with the main order. If you order more than one garment at a time and the options are different from one garment to another, make two separate blocks, so I can figure out what goes together. Ex: item 1: basic options + additional options. Item 2: basic options + additional options. Otherwise, places two separate orders. Anyway once I’ve received it I will contact you if I have any questions to be sure of what you’re asking (check your spam if I ever find myself there).
6) Once paid you will receive an order confirmation email, it’s at this time that you’ll need to send me your photos in a semi-fitted pants, front, side and back.
7) I will get in touch with you to give you a production date depending on orders already received. Each item is done on reception so there is a waiting time to let the magic of custom happen.
8) If you have any special requests do not hesitate to contact me so that I can make it happen, if possible and define its price. Ideally do it before ordering, so I can make changes on the website so you can pay for it.
If it is a type of clothing that I do not offer it will not be possible, but contact me to be sure, it‘s difficult to make assumptions at this time when I do not know all the details.

Sizing informations
The materials used for pants and shorts are mainly made of extendable fabrics which makes it easier to adapt to the variety of body shapes.
When measuring each garment I take it flat in inches and then I pull the area to know its maximum width as you can see under the ‘’stretch to’ column.
Measurements can vary in production by ¼ " as it’s made by hand.
Pants are named Universa and shorts Travel.

The waist line of the pants and shorts is between the low and the high, but if you want to have a high waist it will be raised to the belly button.

The basic pants are built in a straight unisex fit, but you can also choose to have the skinny cut.

The basic shorts are built in a unisex fit, so you can choose 3 lengths; knees, mid-thigh and short.

You also have the chance to customize your pants or shorts by choosing the color of the basic stitches on the front, back pockets and the rear cut-out to give a small touch of style or even a discreet visibility with the reflective thread.

The sewing design is the funky touch to add on your pants or shorts in a selection of colors that are usually matched with the reflective band for them: bright yellow, bright orange, pink, blue, black and gray. For other choice of thread only you have white, red and yellow. The design consists in having diagonal stitches on the right side of the back yoke combined with the basic seams as well as the tight zigzags that are on the bottom of the belt loops and the bottom of the front pocket. The reflective piping is inserted into a seam between two pieces of fabric, the back cut or the bottom side of the pants that provides greater visibility on strategic locations.

The saddle reinforcement is a piece of fabric cut in the 45 for a maximum elasticity lined with an antibacterial fabric for the fluids absorption and makes it more durable. With this cut you will extend the life of your pants or shorts of 1000 km, minimum, plus the tear areas will lie on the seams making it easier to repair without discomfort.

An independent tape u-lock holster that’s easy to access and slide into. It’s located just below the belt which makes it more comfortable with backpack. 3 sizes are available, for minis (4 ½"), regular (5") and wide (5 1/2"), simply measure the space between the metal rods to validate the size if you believe you have a larger padlock. By wearing a belt you will not have the side of the pants that will come down by the weight of the u-lock.

The D-ring is added to the belt loop of your choice, which allows you to hang carabiners with your personal belongings. On the long run It offers a better durability and let you hang heavier objects by wearing a belt.

Reflective tape is the uncompromised style visibility, simply flip the edge of your pants (cover ¾ of the hem) or shorts (located on the side). Customization allows you to choose from the following colors: bright yellow, bright orange, pink, blue, black and grey.

The pocket on the thigh is an easy access to your cell phone with the regular version that you slide into. For an additional secure pocket it’s offered with a zipper in its full length on the side. This pocket can be added on the thigh of your choice or on both sides.

The optimum security of your personal belongings on the back pockets with zippers can be defined in several ways, on both pockets, on one or with the combo of the interior flag in bright yellow with reflective strips that is placed on the left side, traffic direction.

This option is mainly place on Joggy or winter pants, ideal if you are not wearing a belt to increase stability in order to tighten the belt with straps fixed by plastic snap fasteners.

The bottom of the pants can be tightened by an adjustable cord mainly used for winter pants.
Production
Each custom order is produced when received within a time period of 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the volume received at the workshop. A basic inventory is available in each material and size for any in-person fitting during workshop appointments and events so that you can create a garment according to your specifications.
Each garment is designed and manufactured in the Montreal workshop by me, Marianne Bellerose. I’m not a factory, the whole thing is handcrafted. Local production will always be a priority regardless of the volume of the business growth. Being able to manufacture each product of the brand makes it possible to offer the made to measure and the customization experience and to produce only what’s needed to avoid losses or waste which has a positive effect on the environment.
